About
We build the infrastructure tools we wish existed.
Longbridge is a Helsinki infrastructure company, founded in 2018. Here's why it exists — and who's behind it.
Why we exist
Infrastructure is the foundation. Its tools should be honest.
The best infrastructure is invisible; the worst can sink an otherwise healthy business. Yet much of the tooling around it is built to lock you in, or to bill you for hardware you already own. Longbridge exists to build the honest alternative — flat pricing, no lock-in, no dark patterns; the kind of tools we'd actually want to use. We build them, run them in production ourselves, and take on a small number of senior consulting engagements where that experience helps. First up: the Control Plane.
From the founder
I'm Tuomo Jorri.
I've spent my career close to infrastructure. Twelve and a half years of it were at Nokia — first in standardization, then research data infrastructure, and for the last six and a half building and leading a global cloud-platform-engineering team for Nokia Technologies. In 2018 I started Longbridge as my own vehicle for the work I wanted to do, and it led me to co-found Metaplay — the game-backend technology that's served hundreds of millions of players since 2019 — where I'm Co-founder and Head of Infrastructure.
After enough years of it, you stop being impressed by convenience and start caring about what's underneath. Longbridge is where I build infrastructure the way I'd want it myself — honest about cost, lock-in, and trade-offs — and where, now and then, I help another team get their foundations right.
